Quick Notes: Apparently tater tot casserole is a big thing in the midwest? Although the original recipe doesn’t sound appetizing to me, I did realize there is some potential with the idea and I must admit that this Loaded Baked Potater-Tot Casserole is divine. Terribly unhealthy, but absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
- 30 oz bag of tots
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)
- 1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine condensed soup, sour cream, and shredded cheese. Stir until combined.Â
- Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking pan and pour the tater tots in, distributing evenly. You can do this from frozen, but I find it works a bit better if you've let them thaw for about 20 minutes first.Â
- Pour your bowl of wet ingredients over the top of the tots evenly.Â
- Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes or until the tots in the middle are cooked and not crappy and weird.
- Remove from the oven and give it about 10 minutes to cool before sprinkling bacon, cheese, and green onions over the top. Serve with a dollop of sour cream!
Serve with a side of Garlic Butter Green Beans or as a side to Instant Pot Spare Ribs!
