Quick Notes: I’m obviously eating this Sausage Country Gravy over biscuits. You can make biscuits from scratch, but honestly… biscuits in a tube are just as good and soooooo much easier. I never bother with scratch biscuits. Also, sometimes making this with spicy sausage is fucking delicious if you’re feeling adventurous.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 4 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 c butter
- 1/2 c flour
- 1 fuck ton of salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown sausage. Do not drain the grease off.
- Add butter and melt fully.
- Now we add the flour. What we are doing, is making a roux with the fats, so try go make sure you're adequately mushing the flour into the butter and grease. If you don't do this correctly you're gonna fuck it all up.
- Slowly stir in milk. You can whisk it if you need to.
- Cook it until it thickens. This will take probably about five minutes or so. Keep a watchful eye and stir consistently.
- Now salt and pepper it. Lots of pepper. Keep tasting until it's to your liking. Measure with your heart.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
