Quick Notes: These spicy sesame brussels sprouts are oven roasted and seasoned with fish sauce. They’re definitely Thai inspired although probably not technically Thai in nature. They’re super delicious and make a great side to any Asian inspired dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb brussels sprouts
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
- 1/4 cup crushed peanuts (give or take)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Prepare your sprouts by chopping off the stumpy little bottom dudes, and then chopping medium-sized sprouts in half, and large in fourths. Little guys can be left whole.
- Throw those bitches in a bowl, and hit them with 2 tablespoons of the sesame oil and the crushed red pepper flakes. Toss them well to ensure coverage.Â
- Line a baking sheet, and spread these all out ono the baking sheet. it's okay if there are some lone leaves out there. They've volunteered as tribute and some will not make it while others will be roasted and tasty.
- Put the pan in the oven for 25 minutes. Check it. If they don't look roasted enough for your liking, give them a little more time.
- Remove the sprouts from the oven and scoop with a spoon immediately into the same bowl you already used. Put the fish sauce in first, toss, then put the remaining ingredients and toss again until dispersed evenly.
- Serve!
These would be an obvious side to an Asian dish, but would even rock alongside this Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin with Honey Mustard Sauce.
