Quick Notes: I kept this spinach caprese pizza recipe pretty simple, but you could add chicken or shrimp or whatever else you may like to it as well. I think the flavor is awesome as it is, but I know a lot of people are very adamant about meat on their pizza, so go for it if that’s your thing.
Ingredients
- 1 Boboli Pizza Crust (Or whatever you like, but using something different may affect bake time)
- 5 basil leaves, chopped
- 1 handful baby spinach
- 1 medium-sized tomato, sliced
- about a cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/4 cup balsamic glaze. You can get it from the store, or I go over how to make it here: http://www.justthefuckingrecipe.net/stuffed-chicken-caprese/
- -For Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- In a small saucepan, melt your butter over medium-high heat. Once melted, add your garlic and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir the flour into the butter to make a roux. Don't brown the roux.Â
- Whisk in the heavy whipping cream. Allow it to come to a simmer. The sauce should thicken quickly. Remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.Â
- Lay our your crust in foil or a baking sheet. Pour on your sauce until it almost reaches the edges. Make sure it's more or less even. It's pizza, not science so just do your best.Â
- Spread on a good amount of cheese. Measure with your heart.Â
- Add the remaining toppings to the pizza evenly, except the balsamic glaze.Â
- Put the pizza in the oven and bake it for about 15 minutes. If the tomatoes are a list undercooked, I would switch it to broil and hit those bitches with that for a minute. It helps, but be careful not to burn the fuck out of your pizza.Â
- Remove from the oven and let it sit for about ten minutes before drizzling the glaze/reduction over the top.
